WELCOME TO SAMAR MISSION...
"...and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

Samar Mission is led by Romeo & Rose Mañoza, aiming to bring true Christian faith, hope, and love to the people of Pagsanghan Samar, Philippines, where my wife and I are going. We are committed to making Christ known, and to have a positive impact on the community by bringing the Lord's Word to the rich Waray culture and changing one life at a time.

Samar is the 3rd largest island in the Easter Visayas region of the Philippines. On March 16, 1521, the Spanish conquistadors, led by Ferdinand Magellan landed first in Homonhon island of Samar and introduced the religion of Catholicism. Pagsanghan is a 5th Class municipality, which comprises of 13 Barangays, and with a population of about 10,000 Samareños.

Join us in our ministry to make a difference and to reach out the forgotten peoples of the Waray tribe!

Romeo and Rose Mañoza

The Mañozas are dedicated Independent Baptist missionaries called to serve in Pagsanghan Samar, Philippines, following God's divine direction. With a deep love for the people of their homeland and a commitment to sharing the transformative power of the Gospel; they have embarked on this mission to bring hope and faith to the communities they serve to fulfill the task of the Great Commission, Matt 28:18-20, Mark 16:15.

Meet Romeo Mañoza
Romeo, a retired U. S. Navy, and a servant of God; spent 42 years in the United States, where The Lord allowed him to cultivate a strong foundation of Christian leadership, discipline, and service for The Living God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, he is answering God’s call to return to Samar, bringing his wealth of Christian experience and passion for teaching and preaching the Word of God. Romeo’s vision includes planting churches, training local men to become leaders in Independent Baptist churches and in their communities, and engaging in evangelism to reach as many lost souls as possible with the Good News and bringing them into God's kingdom.

Meet Rose Mañoza
Rose is a Registered Nurse-Nurse case manager with a heart for caring and counseling. Her medical background equips her to meet the physical and emotional needs of the community, while her faith drives her to guide others toward spiritual growth and healing. Rose's compassionate spirit is a big lift and assistance to their ministry, as she offers support through counseling and builds meaningful connections within the community.

The Mañozas are grateful for the chance to serve and are committed to being vessels for God’s work in Pagsanghan Samar, bringing light, love, and transformation to the people of the Philippines.

God has called the Mañozas to return to Samar to fulfill His purpose. Their ministry focuses on:

  • Preaching and Teaching the whole counsel of God to nurture spiritual growth.

  • Planting Churche/s to establish strong, Christ-centered communities.

  • Training Local Men to become leaders who will carry on the work of ministry.

  • Soulwinning-Evangelism to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the region.

  • Counseling to support individuals and families through life’s challenges.

  • Establishing a Christian School in the future, to provide faith-based education and nurture future generations.

As we faithfully pursue these goals, we remain open to new opportunities and endeavors as the Lord directs, trusting Him to guide our path every step of the way.

Mission Board:
Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples

With the primary direction and objective of church planting world-wide, BMFP provides missionaries with an avenue for implementing innovative ministries in reaching the several thousand pockets of “forgotten peoples” in the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Who are the forgotten peoples?” Forgotten peoples are those needing the Gospel that we often pass by on our way to the traditional mission fields of the world.  We divide these “forgotten people” into four basic categories:

Sending Church:
Filipino Independent Baptist Church

FIBC is an independent, pre-millennial, local, fundamental Baptist church located in Norfolk, Virginia. We believe the King James Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people and use it exclusively for our services, Sunday School, and doctrine. We believe all mankind is born in a sinful state and bound for an eternity in Hell, separated from the almighty, righteous God (Romans 3:10; 3:23; 6:23).

We believe that salvation of a person’s soul from Hell is possible only through the gracious gift of the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross and not by any individual effort (Titus 3:5-7; Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe the gospel message is meant for everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, or personal circumstances and history (John 3:16; Romans 10:13). We also believe that, in His time, Jesus Christ will rapture the believers (the church) into Heaven (I Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Pastor Jose Ramirez, VA

“Most assuredly, Brother Romeo's and Sister Rose's surrender to serve the Lord through missions is commendable and worthy of your financial and prayerful
support."

Pastor Wayne Surface, HI

"He has never lost his burden to reach his own people with the
Gospel. I would recommend him to you for consideration for support. Mahalo!"

Mr. Walter Yoho, PhD, VA

“Romeo is an outstanding student and a gifted teacher. He is a man of solid character and sound judgement. He is a faithful church member... I highly recommend him for your consideration.”
